A wonderful and rare childs cello made by William Walker in Mid Calder near Edinburgh in 1903.
This is such a beautiful cello in excellent condition, sold with its original, seperate solid ebony (non extendable) end pin. Set up by our luthiers to the highest professional standard, this would make a very fine cello for a young up and coming soloist. It has a suprisingly superb, powerful and rich tone for such a small instrument.
William Meredith Morris decribes Walker in his book as "an amature who has made a good number of violins of excellent workmanship and beautiful tone, and shows such great ability and skill that it is a pity he does not devote his whole time to the craft".
